Marketplace deal fees
Tiered buyer and seller fees on eligible Deal Room closes—split evenly, with protected payment and a saved record.
Why there's a deal fee (not just Stripe)
The deal fee answers a different question than "what does Stripe charge?". A wire transfer to a stranger from Facebook Marketplace is cheap on paper and expensive when the bill of sale is missing, the PPE notes are in someone's iMessage, and the seller stops responding the day after funds clear. The deal fee covers protected payment, documented closing steps, and a saved record both sides can produce months later.
Already met the seller? That helps you judge the horse. It does not keep PPE notes, bill of sale files, haul timing, payout expectations, and handoff details organized once the deal starts moving. The fee is smaller than one ugly mistake.
Sold a horse offline anyway? You can still complete ownership registration and transfer records for a flat fee: $99 standard, or $49 for Professional Plus/Elite subscribers. This is a records-transfer service, not a deal-room replacement.

Fee calculator
Final fees are based on the final agreed price in the deal room. Subscription fees are separate from transaction fees. If the buyer and seller agree to a holding deposit before the balance, the tiered fee above is split proportionally across the deposit and the balance — the total fee matches a single-payment deal. Common objections and questions
Still unsure? Email us — we're real people.
Why not just Venmo or wire the money?
Because the risky part of a horse deal is not sending money. It is proving what was agreed before the money moves. On eligible Equimeta deals, the buyer cannot run Stripe checkout in the Deal Room until the purchase agreement is e-signed by both sides and the seller's payout account is connected — payment, terms, and contract on one record.
Why pay a fee if we already met in person?
Meeting in person helps you judge the horse. It does not keep PPE notes, haul timing, bill of sale files, payment timing, and handoff details organized. The deal fee pays for the documented Deal Room workflow, the e-signed purchase agreement, the saved record, and platform support during the riskiest part of the sale.
What does 'eligible deal' mean?
It means both sides complete the transaction through the supported Equimeta Deal Room workflow — agreement, signed contract, Stripe-processed payment, document exchange — instead of running the closing steps off-platform.
What if we agreed offline first?
If both sides want protected checkout, bring the deal into Equimeta before money changes hands and complete it through the eligible deal flow. If the sale is already closing offline, you can still use our ownership registration and transfer records service for the flat fee, but that is not a deal-room replacement.
Can I use Equimeta just for records transfer?
Yes. Closed a horse sale offline anyway? You can still complete ownership registration and transfer records for a flat fee: $99 standard, or $49 for Professional Plus or Professional Elite subscribers. That service does not include protected payment or deal-room documentation support.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes — cancel from your account settings at any time. You'll keep access through the end of your billing period, no questions asked.
What counts as a listing?
A listing is any horse, equipment, or service posted to the marketplace. Included listing capacity varies by plan, and the current plan matrix on this page reflects the latest packaging. Professional Plus and Professional Elite are the seller-focused tiers for ongoing listing volume.
Is there a free trial for paid plans?
Professional Plus and Professional Elite plans include a 14-day free trial. Not ready to commit? Start with the free Explorer tier and upgrade whenever you're ready.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit and debit cards via Stripe. Annual plans can also be paid by bank transfer — contact us to arrange.
Do you offer discounts for youth riders or non-profits?
We do. Reach out to support@equimeta.co with your details and we'll set you up with a discount code.
