About this horse

Disciplines: 4H, Beginner-Safe, Equitation, Gymkhana, Horsemanship, Mountain Trail, Parade, Playday, Ranch Work, Working Cattle Why The Snip Not?? He's a drop dead gorgeous black gelding that is built right and is as sane as they come. "Snip" is registered with the AQHA (named "Why the snip Not"), stands 15 hands, and at 9 years old is in the prime of his life. Snip is thick boned and sturdy, made to go all day if you want to. He is classy and has just the right amount of flash to catch everyone's eye when he goes by. We started Snip several years ago, and he always behaved like a true gentleman. He's respectful on the ground and in the saddle. Snip is happy to go on whatever adventure you have planned... whether it's trail riding in the mountains, cow work on the ranch, or the weekend gymkhana. Snip is a "go where you point him" type of horse. We've ridden him in high country, through town, and everywhere in between. Bikes, bridges, wildlife, bogs, traffic.... not a problem for Snip. On the ranch, we have been roping and tagging calves, moving and sorting cattle, treating sick cattle, and letting the kids practice their roping on Snip. He tracks and drags a dummy as well. In the arena, he knows both leads, has a good stop and lateral movements. He is lightly started in the English arena as well. Snip rides around nicely one handed, responds to leg cues. He has been ridden by our kids and they get along famously with him. They will even jump on bareback with only a halter. Snip is friendly, easy to catch and ready to go whenever you are. He gets along in the herd even with mares and mules. Snip is great for the vet. He has a PPE with xrays available upon request; he is current on vaccinations, deworming and coggins. Snip is also farrier approved. We have hauled Snip extensively and he settles right in to new surroundings. He's also been on overnight camping trips and highlines and hobbles. He is easy to load and backs out. Snip is located near Nunn, CO; Shipping is available. [contact info removed]
