About this horse

Pinocchio is a gelding with the kind of personality that makes him instantly part of the family. He earned his name because he always has to have his nose in everything. Pinocchio is incredibly personable and truly wants to be part of the conversation, whether you’re in the barn, the pasture, or tacking up. He craves nearly as much attention as the family dog and will even sit and lay down like one. He’s always careful and steady on the trail, yet broke and versatile enough to step into the arena and go to work. Pinocchio has the mind of a horse twice his age and is very receptive to what’s asked of him. In the arena, he’s a blast to ride, with a deep stop off your seat, a correct and fun turnaround, and the ability to move off your leg with ease. He’s been tracking the roping sled and shows all the potential to step up as a rope horse prospect, but he’s just as comfortable loping circles, stretching into a long trot, or carrying himself softly in English tack. With his willingness to frame up and stay soft, Pinocchio could just as easily go in a dressage direction as well. Not looking for a performance horse? Pinocchio is just as happy to stroll down the trail on a loose rein, taking care of riders of any level. He takes every obstacle in stride. Teeter-totter bridge, cowboy curtain, tarps, whips, gunfire, and flags are all old news to him. What makes Pinocchio extra special is his loving personality. He adores people of all ages and has been nothing but kind and gentle with our kids. He has that rare combination of being broke, dependable, and safe, while still being affectionate in a way that makes him irresistible to be around. Around the barn, Pinocchio is a joy. He’s been kept in a stall and turned out on pasture with no bad habits. Pictures don’t do him justice. His kind eye, flashy look, and solid build really shine in person. He has plenty of foot and bone to last, setting him up for a long and successful career. Gentle, flashy, broke, and full of heart, Pinocchio is the kind of horse that can go in any direction. Whether you’re looking for a dependable family horse, a solid trail partner, or a versatile gelding with western, English, or dressage potential, Pinocchio has the talent and mind to get you there. Pinocchio will be offered for sale at the Southern Belle Classic Sale in Aiken, South Carolina, March 27-28! PPE and Radiographs are available. We would love for you to come out and meet Pinocchio, feel free to reach out with any questions or to set up a time to come try him!
