The All-Rounder
Comfortable in the middle of everything, which is rarer than it sounds. Enough forward to stay honest, enough patience to wait for you. Not a specialist - a generalist. The kind of horse that makes a good program great, or a rough patch survivable.
About this horse
At Auction – Sale Date: Nov 12, 2025 Disciplines: All-Around Show, Dressage, English, English Pleasure, Equitation, Eventing, Halter, Hunt Seat Equitation, Hunter, Hunter Pleasure UC Change of Heart, “Frejya” is a 2022, 15 hh (expected to mature to ~15.2hh) Morgan mare. Frejya is by UC Battersea Xanadu (Chief of State x Battersea Ouida) and out of UC Holiday Rose (Rosevale Leggo x Holiday Pride). Her maternal grand sire, Rosevale Leggo has an extensive show record exceling in both sports classes and dressage. He is a USEF ‘Horse of the Year’ Regional Champion and an AMHA Regional Champion at 2nd level. Frejya’s paternal grand sire, Chief Of State excelled in several disciplines, including carriage, dressage, hunter over fences, and trail. He earned numerous championships in both open and Morgan competition. Her sire, Battersea Xanadu was successfully shown in hand and has been one of the top producing stallions at UConn for the past two years due to his impressive pedigree, temperament, and trainability. Frejya’s Dam, Holiday Rose, showed potential in both the hunter and dressage arenas at UConn before she became a broodmare. Although Holiday Rose could not continue her show career, she has made a wonderful broodmare due to her correct confirmation, athleticism, and fantastic blood. Frejya herself lunges with and without tack, works off the bridle in hand, long lines, and has been mounted. Her training will continue until sold. She was put through a jump shoot successfully with great form. She is very willing and aims to please in any way she can. She is a sensitive mare with a strong foundation and lovely ground manners. She ties, loads, stands for the vet and farrier and has been introduced to clippers and bathing. She is up to date on deworming, Coggins, and vaccinations. Frejya could go in any direction but seems best suited for dressage or hunt seat. Frejya would be a good project for an amateur with a trainer or an advanced rider looking for a prospect.
