About this horse

$6,500 USD FIRM Disciplines: All-Around Show, English, Family-Safe, Lesson, No Vices, Pony Club, Project, Trail Riding, Western, Youth Meet Bailey, an 11 year old adorable gelding looking for someone to make him THIER #1. This horse has always been "the second" or "the backup" to all three of his owners - including me. He's had formal training with all the big names in both the dressage and western world, then left for a months or years as he sat in the backseat to another horse that took the spotlight. I did exactly that - I bought Bailey in December of 2025 as my back up horse to develop over time. Well, it was March before I ever even sat on him due to the awful winter we had, and then he would be ridden once or twice and then again left for a few weeks. This summer I swore I'd get him ridden at least 3 times a week - but, he was always last to ride and again got left behind. The last few weeks I've come to realize that this not a fair life for Bailey, and am offering him for sale ONLY to someone that has the time to enjoy him. He can have a month off, then just hop on and go. He rides english, western and bareback! I think his riding skills in the arena need a lot of finishing, but he was sold to me with a green change, half pass, and all the lateral work and YES it is all in there! I mostly trail rode him, as the last horse of the day, when he did get out, I have really enjoyed his bravery and happiness out on the trail or hacking around the farm. He has beautifully clean legs, has been barefoot his entire life, has no vices, and has never ever been sick or lame. He is great being stalled 24/7 or out in a mixed herd, as he has done both here. My young children really enjoy handling and grooming him, and he is as quiet as can be on the ground. He is great for the farrier, vet (UTD on everything) and trailering. He's easy peasy to live with, to work around, and just needs a job! Is he perfect? Not at all. He definitely has holes in his training and would thrive on consistency with one method. He can look at things, but is not reactive. He has three quality gaits. He did not do much cantering the last few years with his old owner (NOT due to to him) so the canter needs some work. However, he does nothing wrong, he just lacks balance right now.
