The All-Rounder

Comfortable in the middle of everything, which is rarer than it sounds. Enough forward to stay honest, enough patience to wait for you. Not a specialist - a generalist. The kind of horse that makes a good program great, or a rough patch survivable.

About this horse

Elton has been brought along slowly as I lost my trainer to retirement 2 years ago. He is flashy and a character, wants to bond to 1 person, but gets along with anyone who treats him with kindness and patience. He has been handled all his life. Good for farrier, stands patiently while groomed. He has enjoyed being ponied out on trails and was well behaved. Likes to interact with people and works willingly. Ready to move on to a new forever home. His mother was 5 gaited, but Elton has not had training, nor is he shod at the present time. My trainer was starting him to drive but retired before Elton was hooked up. Elton has been worked on long line.. He did comment, Elton was the most tractable, willing young horse he had ever trained. A patient, skilled rider or trainer would be best.
