Temperament & Management
The Competitor
Athletic, forward, and mentally steady enough to stay useful under pressure. Has the engine to move up and the brain to stay there - doesn't need babysitting in warm-up or convincing at the gate. Suited to riders who want to climb levels, not just maintain them.
About this horse
Disciplines: Barrel Racing, Breakaway Roping, Ranch Sorting, Ranch Trail Class, Reining-Cowhorse-Cutting, Trail Riding, Working Cattle “Rue” is a 15hh, stout mare who is kind, cowy, athletic and ready for a job! Rue would shine in a versatility class, behind a cow, running barrels or as someone’s number one trail partner. Rue has been ridden all over the mountains and taken on hunting trips. She high lines and stays in an over night pen. She will go over logs and through water. No terrain is too tough for Rue. She is not bothered by wildlife or four wheelers. She stands great for the farrier and has solid feet. Rue is a very easy keeper, easy to catch, load, tie and haul. Side passes, two tracks, has a clear understanding of how to move her shoulders over, vs. hips, vs. rib cage. Started on barrels, poles, ponied colts, good start in cutting cows, has drug around logs, been to brandings and started on breakaway. She is a big stopper and started on small turnarounds. Rue is an absolute joy to ride. PPE ‘s welcome at buyer’s expense. More pictures and video upon request. Due to owner injury- Rue has had a year off but was just sent to a trainer for a tune up and is currently being rode. She saddled up and rode off like a dream. She did not miss a beat even after a lengthy time off. Video below: [contact info removed]
