About this horse

Seminole 🤍🩶🖤 “Sem” is a flashy grey leopard appy gelding, standing around 13.2/14 hands, and estimated to be 7 years old. He has a very fun, friendly, sweet, and playful personality. He has great ground manners, is happy to be haltered, and knows how to lunge both directions w/t/c, yield hind/fore quarters; stand tied for grooming, flyspray, tacking, blanketing, bathing and farrier; and load/unload. His favorite job is to inspire kids at school career days, where he does the hard work of carefully eating the carrot sticks they feed him without mistaking any fingers for food! He’s been ridden mostly western. He knows how to w/t/c under saddle, and primarily direct rein, but is learning to neck rein. He responds well to leg, rein, and verbal cues. Confidently crosses bridges, poles, creeks, etc. Has ridden through town in parades, down many trails, at open and covered arenas, and in the round pen by kids. We’ve also ponied a pony and a colt off of him. He is usually pretty level headed, but has spooked occasionally at sudden scary things like sprinklers popping up, so I’m not going to say he’s bomb proof, but he is very manageable. Like most young horses, he does best with consistency. If he’s not been ridden in over a week then I’ll send him in a couple circles before hopping on just to see how he’s feeling, but he usually comes back into work easily. He has primarily been ridden by a young adult, but I think he’d be a great fit for a young rider in a ranching, show, or rodeo family. Barefoot and sound. Hooves trimmed every 6-8 weeks, last done October 7th. Current negative Coggins good through September 2026. Teeth floated October 2024. PPE welcome at buyers expense. Longview, TX.
