The Easy Day

Uncomplicated and content. Not trying to impress anyone, and that's exactly the appeal. Won't light up the arena, but won't ruin your Tuesday either. Consistent, low-key, and genuinely pleasant to be around - the horse that makes the hobby sustainable.

About this horse

$8,500 USD NEGOTIABLE Disciplines: 4H, Barefoot Hoofcare, Cross-Bred, Draft, Foundation-Bred, Trail Riding, Western Dressage, Working Equitation Sassafras RR is a rare and lovely chestnut Leopard filly -- the only Black Forest Draft X Appaloosa cross of her kind in the US. Dam is purebred Black Forest Draft, a daughter of the well-known Dante, "Cici's Lilianna", and sire is PJA Ghostwind Spirit, a 97% foundation registered Appaloosa owned by the Wild J Ranch in Colorado. Calm and levelheaded, Sassy is halter trained, picks up her feet, and loads in a trailer. She's completely sound, barefoot with great feet, and has no vices. Ready to start (she will be three May 2026), she's a true blank slate ready for her person to bring up and train in the direction they choose. Whether as a versatile, all-around partner, a lower level dressage or working equitation prospect, or a wonderful trail horse, she has all the right qualities to become someone's once-in-a-lifetime companion. Video and pictures available at request. Price is negotiable for the perfect fit--I'd love to see her stay in the Pacific NW if possible. Located in southern Oregon.
