About this horse

$1,500 USD NEGOTIABLE Disciplines: Barefoot Hoofcare, Draft, Rescue, Trail Riding Rosie is an approximate 25 year old, 17.1hh Belgian draft mare that’s looking for someone who can help her become a trail partner! Or, if you’re just looking for someone to love on, Rosie would be just as happy be a glorified lawn ornament. After giving Rosie time to settle in and gain weight, I realized Rosie needs someone with more experience to give her the best life. She is a sensitive horse but can be pushy, and needs someone who can find a balance between being firm yet gentle. Rosie gets 7lbs of soaked feed per day, and manages her weight well on it with 24/7 hay or grass. She can be in a pasture with mares or geldings and is usually low on the pecking order. Rosie has choked twice and coliced once since I got her due to her poor teeth. These incidents’ occurred over the colder seasons during intense temperature fluctuations or extreme cold. She would likely benefit from being in a stall overnight when below zero degrees. Rosie is a sweet horse that has many years left to be a wonderful, easy going companion for someone.
