About this horse

At Auction – Sale Date: Mar 23, 2026 Disciplines: 4H, All-Around Show, Beginner-Safe, Breakaway Roping, Calf Roping, Competitive Trail Riding, Cowhorse, English, Family-Safe, Husband-Safe Roseys Handsome Cat, known as “Gus,” is a 2019 AQHA black gelding standing a handy 14.2 hands with the pedigree and ability to back him up. A grandson of Little Cat Olena, an NCHA money earner with $52,272 LTE who is a son of the legendary Highbrow Cat, a name that needs no introduction in the performance horse world. Gus carries himself with that same athletic ability and trainable mind, wrapped up in a sharp looking package with a kind eye and sweet personality. He’s the definition of a solid ranch horse that is as enjoyable to be around as he is to ride. Under saddle Gus walks, trots, and canters with ease, picks up both leads, spins, side passes, has a great stop, and backs nicely while staying soft and not to mention is good legged, and carries himself very nicely! He’ll never raise his head above the saddle horn and is the definition of one hand broke. He has been exposed to just about anything you can imagine and takes everything in stride with absolutely no spook or silliness about him. Cattle, tarps, streams, flags, riding alone or with others, Gus has done it all! Gus is suitable for anyone; we’ve had beginners ride him and he will happily go as slow or as fast as they ask, while more advanced riders can step him up and make him really get around. Whether you want a horse for play days, team sortings, Sunday trail rides, or to take to the ropings, Gus fits the bill. He stands tied all day like a perfect gentleman, is easy to brush, groom, saddle, and mount, and truly is the ideal all around gelding ready for his next lifetime home where he’s sure to make someone very happy! Everyone needs a Gus in their barn, reliable and sure to put a smile on your face when you swing a leg over!
