Temperament & Management
The Competitor
Athletic, forward, and mentally steady enough to stay useful under pressure. Has the engine to move up and the brain to stay there - doesn't need babysitting in warm-up or convincing at the gate. Suited to riders who want to climb levels, not just maintain them.
About this horse
“Playboys Got Power” is a 2011 AQHA gelding that has done all aspects of ranch work. We have owned him since he was a 3 year old. He is an awesome using horse that has been used for everything from sorting pairs to doctoring yearlings to penning wild cattle. He makes my job easy and is my favorite mount to grab when I am by myself and have to catch a big yearling or move cattle from the bottom. Additionally, he lives up to his pedigree of NCHA money earners and will eat up a cow every time he gets the chance. He is super athletic, and he is not the kind to let one get by him. He has also been elk hunting several times, and you can count on him to get you back to camp safely in the daylight or in the dark. He stays broke with time off and will be the same every time you get on him. He has no buck, bite, or kick. He has a good handle and rides around well. He will fold up in a corner to let you open/close gates, and he will let you pick up and carry flags, panels, barrels, etc. while riding him. He is not one for idleness, and if there is a job being done anywhere around him he wants to be a part of it and will not wait patiently. He has a great work ethic and is always ready for his next ranch job or ride through the mountains. Approximately 14.3 hands tall. Located in Commerce, TX.
