Temperament & Management
The Competitor
Athletic, forward, and mentally steady enough to stay useful under pressure. Has the engine to move up and the brain to stay there - doesn't need babysitting in warm-up or convincing at the gate. Suited to riders who want to climb levels, not just maintain them.
About this horse
Ranch-oriented and cow-capable, this 2018 registered POA mare is described as fancy broke with a good stop, rollback, and the ability to collect. The listing says she has been used to push cows and has been roped on, with aptitude for ranch work, gymkhana-type use, trail riding, and rodeo-related jobs. At 13.3 hands, she is presented as handy for youth but not suitable for beginners, suggesting a smaller, capable mare that still requires an experienced rider. The seller notes she can sit for extended periods and return to work without much change. Important disclosures include a prior reproductive injury from broodmare use, and she is not being sold as a broodmare without reconstructive surgery. The ad also mentions moon blindness with daylight-only riding management, despite an inconsistent ERU statement.
