About this horse

$3,500 USD FIRM Nordic is very well broke to drive and he has less miles riding than driving but he is a solid-brained individual who is not spooky, has a good work ethic, and wants to please. He has only had 2 owners, each of whom kept him for 5 years. He is a rare sooty smoky black (genetically tested). I would describe him as having thick boned legs with a more average build in his barrel. He has a very cute face and kind eye. Under harness he is a veteran. I do not have driving videos of him, I can get some but it is simply not a priority for me for reasons entirely unrelated to Nordic and more to do with my time and schedule. If you want to bring your stuff and drive him, you are welcome to. His last owners drove him for 5 years. Under saddle, Nordic will WTC and pop over a small jump, but he does not have fancy buttons and could benefit from some dressage lessons because he has no idea what that is all about (although I am working on it when I ride him). He is lovely and adorable with lots of potential. He is willing to go forward but he is also not hot, just not lazy. I am sure he would love to trail ride. Like most horses with driving experience, he is easy to steer and he responds to voice commands. He stands well for mounting and in general he has very good manners. He is a sweet horse with a good brain and lots of sense and not hot or reactive and has never bucked, never done something stupid under saddle. Nordic is completely clean legged, no blemishes, and he has great feet (that are large too), very sound strong horse. He also has no vices. Nordic does have an anomaly and that is why he is priced as he is (that and I am too busy to give him more time, my preference is to find him a home). He makes noise when being ridden. It is a little inconsistent (sometimes I have heard it, sometimes I haven't), it is NOT a roar (he does not have a paralyzed flap). To be perfectly honest, we don't know why he makes noise. We have had him scoped by our vet and there were no conclusions from it. So, we are selling him with this disclosed and in my experience, I am not sure it limits him too much because he has had a busy work life so far, however you can do with it what you may. He is currently ridden and will continue to do so until sold, and if one day he stops making the noise we may re-assess. For now we are offering him for $3500 to a good home, which I feel is a steal of a deal for a registered, rare-colored, sane-brained Morgan that is well-broke to drive and nicely tolerant under saddle with potential for multiple disciplines (working equitation, foxhunting, lesson horse, western dressage, regular dressage, trail horse, driving horse, etc). Hard copy AMHA papers are in hand with a signed transfer and he can be shown in the Morgan classes. He would be a really great holiday present for someone on a budget and you'd get a best friend for life!
