About this horse

$3,500 USD NEGOTIABLE Disciplines: 4H, Advanced Rider Recommended, All-Around Show "Libby" is a 5 year old papered quarter horse mare. She is what I would consider past green broke, knows her leads and has steering and a stop. No fancy buttons. Has a cloudy eye but it does not effect her or her performance. She has pros and cons. She is an absolute sweetheart on the ground, and is willing and enthusiastic when it comes to groundwork. She gets along with other horses, currently lives with donkeys and has lived with sheep as well. Fairly confident under saddle but can have her spooky moments, always been a tuck tail and run sort of spook. Onto her cons, to start off this mare has extremely straight hocks. She has been ridden fairly lightly as I simply have had the time to be consistent with her. Second off, she is QUIRKY. She was sent off for 90 days, came back further behind than prior to being sent off. She will buck, not just crowhop, will send video examples to serious inquires. With inconsistent riding after her 90 days she has already started to work through it but is unpredictable as to when you make progress she’s a real sensitive mare, not one that needs cowboyed on. I do not have time to continue working through these issues. You can ride her in a halter, hack, bit, take your pick. She’s been hauled around and seen the sights, stayed overnight in places, but there is no expectation for her to perform during those times, just pure hauling experience. This is a hard ad to write for me. I love this mare loads but we simply don’t click when it comes to riding and I am going away to college and will not have time for her. She will make a lovely horse for someone who can give her the time and consistency she needs.
