Temperament & Management
The All-Rounder
Comfortable in the middle of everything, which is rarer than it sounds. Enough forward to stay honest, enough patience to wait for you. Not a specialist - a generalist. The kind of horse that makes a good program great, or a rough patch survivable.
About this horse
$3,500 USD NEGOTIABLE Disciplines: All-Around Show, Barefoot Hoofcare, Cowboy Dressage, Dressage, Endurance Riding, English, Hunter Under Saddle, Show Experience, Trail Riding, Western Magic Aristocrat LH “Layla” is a 2015 purebred Arabian mare looking for her forever home as her owner graduates college. Layla is versatile under saddle—she has shown hunt seat, schooled western (broke to the curb), and could easily transition into dressage, trail, or other disciplines. She’s a sweet, tolerant mare who loves attention and grooming. Layla will happily stand for hours and enjoys spending quiet time with her person. Her current owner often sits with her in the field or stall, and Layla soaks up the company. On the ground, Layla is exceptionally safe. She’s been used in horse camps and for first time lead-line rides with small children. Under saddle she can be a little more particular on the rail, but she’s manageable and continues to be ridden and shown regularly. Layla thrives with a consistent rider and a deep connection. She will be someone’s forever horse, but she’s not the right match for just anyone. She’s a fun, responsive ride, with beautiful collection, extension, and lateral movement. Intelligent and eager to learn, and would do well at liberty. Layla is great for baths, grooming, the farrier, and the vet. She ties, loads, and hauls easily. She body clips well, though her muzzle and ears aren’t her favorite areas, they can still be done without restraint or occasionally with a lip chain for her ears if needed. Layla does best on Regumate, since she can get uncomfortable under saddle during her heat cycle. She could be managed without it by giving her a few days off when she’s in heat. We do not have her papers, but we do have a photo if you’d like to see her breeding. Video: [contact info removed]
