Meet Rhett. Rhett is an AMHA-registered sooty buckskin gelding standing at just over 14 hands. Honest, smart, and a true gentleman, he’s been handled daily since birth and started slowly at 4. He greets you at the gate, has lived alongside cattle, goats, pigs, and dogs, and has excellent manners under saddle, on the ground, and in the trailer. Barefoot, sound, and sturdy with big, hard feet, he’s built to last. Training has been split between arena and trail, with rides up to 15 miles so far. Arena: Ridden in open and enclosed arenas to build adaptability. Smooth gaits, collects easily, works well in hackamore, snaffle, or shank. Shown once this spring and settled in nicely. He placed 1st in Trail, 5th in Ranch Riding W/T/L. Trail: Solid and reliable front, middle, back, or solo. Comfortable on varied terrain, beaches, mountains, and campouts. Crosses water, bridges, logs, and gates; steady around bikes, dogs, cattle, and wildlife. Calm with gunfire, curious yet trusting, and rides loose rein at all gaits. Mount/dismount from either side or slide off his hind. No jigging and not hot. He will pick up the pace when asked and happily come back to a walk whether going towards or away from home / trailer. Rhett is healthy with no vices. Parents in teens and full sister on-site, all healthy. Friendly with strangers and loves attention. He is the sweetest boy! Rhett is best suited for a small adult or junior rider with soft hands. Can be enjoyed by an advanced beginner with a trainer and appreciated by a more experienced rider.
