About this horse

$7,000 USD Disciplines: 6-Panel DNA Test N-N, Barefoot Hoofcare, Barrels-Poles-Gymkhana, Competitive Trail Riding, Cowboy Dressage, Cowboy Mounted Shooting, Cowhorse, Cutting, NRHA Futurity-Derby Nominated, Western Pleasure Duke was 1 of 2 colts we purchased in March of 2024 after I lost my heart horse. I have found over the last 2ish years is that my heart just isn't in this any longer, and I've decided to close the chapter of my life on horse ownership. Duke is a coming 3 yo Buckskin Roan gelding. He is unbroke, I prefer to wait until they're 4 before I start putting weight on them, however he has basic ground manners, stands for the farrier/vet, leads, ties - haven't tried bathing but with some desensitization, he'll be fine with it. He is smart, he picks up and retains whatever you're asking of him. I have tossed a saddle on here and there and lead him around, he is not bothered by it, I've also leaned across and very gingerly sat on him bareback in the pasture, he was unsure but didn't overreact. When we brought them home, I did some basic things you do with babies, desensitizing, leading, just working with them in general. We entered a couple virtual in hand shows, in early 2025 he won a couple ribbons - he's sat since. I took him out 1/10/26 to take some pictures and video and was pleasantly surprised at how well he did everything asked of him, after having done nothing but been a wild boy, growing and maturing mentally and physically. He is ready to go whatever way you want to go, he's going to be an awesome riding partner for someone. From his sale ad by his breeder - Eye catching buckskin colt out of KT Queen ofHollywood and by KT Gunpowder N Lead. KT Queen ofHollywood is out of one of our favorite mares, KT Copper Queen Cleo, whose dam was an awesome all-around horse, Copper Queen Robin. Dad roped off of Copper Queen Robin, she was used as a ranch horse, Toni barrel raced off of her and showed her 4H. She was not used as a brood mare until she was in her 20's. KT Queen ofHollywood is by Genuine Dun it, who is the first NCHA money earning son of Hollywood Dun It (NRHA $65,809 and get earning in excess of five million dollars) out of Genuine Starlet (Earning over $77,000 and 224 points) KT Gunpowder N Lead is by Cue Bars Laddie, an AQHA point earning and producing stallion, who is out of two money earning parents. KT Gunpowder N Lead's dam is a mare we have used in all aspects of ranch work and she has been shown NFQHA and was featured on the cover of the NFQHA book. Duke's pedigree includes greats like Hollywood Dun it, Genuine Doc, Docs Dee Bar, Sizzlin Hot, Gusdusted, Ed Echols, Imperial One, Docs Jack Frost, Dandy Derby and more. This is going to be a flashy, agile colt with a lot of character and color. Duke qualifies for AQHA Ranching Heritage Challenges through AQHA
