$8,000 USD NEGOTIABLE Disciplines: Broodmare, Intermediate Rider Recommended, Lesson, Light Riding, Mountain Trail, Trail Riding, Two-Rein Horse, Western Riding I bought Drifter in hopes of breeding her. We only pasture breed though and she won’t let the Stallion cover her. I also took her in to be live covered and she was terrified and they weren’t able to get a good cover on her. She is a maiden mare. With her amazing pedigree (she is an own granddaughter of Smart Chic Olena) and as smart, soft, light and athletic as she is I think it would be worth a try for someone else to AI her. Unfortunately that just doesn’t fit our program and that’s way more effort and money I want to put in to breeding a mare so now she must go. She had an injury to her hind leg when she was a baby but it doesn’t seem to bother her much at all. She is extremely athletic and fast and I honestly have never seen her take a bad step since we’ve had her. Therefore I’m selling as light to medium riding only, as well as broodmare sound. Her price reflects her pedigree, disposition and ride ability. She has been being ridden by intermediate riders and has been getting along with everyone that been on her great. So far everyone comes up to me and tells me they love her! She has not been roped off of so she is more suitable for a trail horse. Has been around dogs, chickens, peacocks, a herd of about 20 other horses, kids, lots of people zipping around on four wheelers, and seems to get along fine with it all. She can be hard to catch in a big pasture though. She gives up pretty easy in a smaller pen or medium sized corral though. But once you catch her she has a very sweet and soft disposition. She is also very sensitive and very light under saddle. So I would prefer she go to someone who has good hands to keep that softness in her going. But either way I’m sure she’d get along fine regardless. She has been being ridden in a snaffle and a hackamore and she is ready to go into the two-rein if that is something you’re interested in. That is her next step as long as she is still here with us. Ties and stands for farrier fine. Loads and travels good.
