Journey To The Glacier

About this horse

$35,000 USD Journey To The Glacier “Journey” 2018 FriesianxQH mare registered with Friesian Heritage Horse and Sport Horse International Journey tapes between 14.3 and 15 hands tall and stands on the scale at 1250lbs. She is a stout girl with great bone and wears a size 2 shoe. Journey is a sweet, friendly and willing mare to work with. She is easy to be around and has gotten along with a variety of horses. She is easy to load on the trailer whether a slant load or stock with other horses she is unfamiliar with, I have been able to put her anywhere in the lineup. Journey is great to catch, she will often meet you at the gate or is easy to approach. She is quiet on the ground, easy to lead and stands tied quietly. Journey is good for the farrier, she is often barefoot as she has good feet, though she has been shod when riding on the mountain/rocky ground and pavement. Journey has many miles riding outside of the arena gathering cattle on 10,000+ acre pastures, trail riding through Medicine Bow National Forest and has made a trip through the city of Cheyenne. In the arena she walk/jog/lopes with ease and good body control - hind quarters, forequarters, ribcage. She has a solid simple lead change and is working on a better flying change. She can side pass, open/close gates, swing a rope on her, drag objects and carry a flag. She has been ridden English and taken me through a few dressage lessons. Journey is amateur friendly and gets along with youth that have some experience. We believe this mare would excel in any direction you would like and she is certainly flashy enough to go to the show pen. Journey has been owned by the same family since she was a weanling, we can answer any questions!
