He has had only two owners prior to us and has been used primarily for trail riding, parades, gathering cattle, and checking fence lines. He has seen a lot of the world and handles it with ease. He will lope circles both directions, has a decent turnaround, will break at the pole, and has enough stop. With his natural ability and attitude, he would make a neat little heel horse for someone at a lower number or someone just wanting a handy, broke gelding a step above a trail horse. This horse has a big, goofy personality and is very in-your-business. He is extremely easy to catch, loves attention, and is the kind you can just get on and go. He neck reins well, is gentle for anyone to ride, and rides comfortably one-handed. His walk is smooth and controlled, though he is naturally more upbeat and walks out on a loose rein more than a pokey type. He has a nice trot and a short, comfortable lope. He will lead or follow in a group, handles traffic, loud music, and a variety of animals, and has been hauled to different trails and parades. He loads easily, hauls quietly, and backs out of the trailer. He is easy saddle/groom, easy to shoe, clean-legged, sound, and an extremely easy keeper who stays fat on just hay. He does well turned out or on daily turnout and does not need to be stalled. If kept in a stall 24/7 for long periods, he can mildly windsuck out of boredom only (no chewing). This is easily managed with turnout during the day and stalled at night or his option to be in or out. He’s playful and likes stall ball toys, if kept up all the time he needs something to do, this is not something we fault him for just his personality. He’s very very personable like a dog. He is super healthy, low-maintenance, and uncomplicated — no special feed, no special care. If you’re looking for a horse you truly can’t mess up, this is your guy.
