Temperament & Management
The Competitor
Athletic, forward, and mentally steady enough to stay useful under pressure. Has the engine to move up and the brain to stay there - doesn't need babysitting in warm-up or convincing at the gate. Suited to riders who want to climb levels, not just maintain them.
About this horse
$20,000 USD NEGOTIABLE Disciplines: Dressage, English, English Pleasure, Equitation, Eventing, Foxhunter, Jumping, Performance, School, Sporthorse Here’s a fun, educated, superstar gelding ready for his next career! “Hero” is a 10 year old 16.1 hand Friesian Warmblood gelding. Hero has a wonderful brain and attitude as well as a solid build with tons athletic ability! He is a gorgeous mover with lots of ring presence. He has a comfortable walk, trot, canter, picks up both leads and loves to jump! This is a horse that could easily go in any direction, whether you want to poke along down the trail or hit the dressage ring, go fox hunting, cross country, etc! He is a more forward ride, but is safe with good brakes. He’s packed around junior riders (14yo) and is super fun and a confidence booster! He’s jumped up to 3ft at home and has scope for more! Hero recently went off farm to school XC and had a blast! He’s got a nice big, uphill canter and is honest over fences. He trailers well and is very well behaved at new places. While he has primarily ridden English, he is also stunning in western tack! He’s seen many miles of trails and loves going out. He has no problem riding out by himself, as majority of the time it’s just us, but also enjoys the company of a group as well! At home he’s pretty low-key. He’s well mannered for all the normal barn tasks, he’s turned out mostly 24/7 and is good in a stall. Ties, clips, bathes, load/unloads and travels well. Good for tacking up and mounting. Easy to handle, gentleman to be around, enjoys attention and being groomed, loves cookies! He’s an easy keeper on just a simple, forage based diet, no extras. Low maintenance, currently shod on the front per my preference, but he’s sound barefoot. Has nice big, solid feet, wears a number 3 shoe. He is excellent for the farrier. He’s sound, sane, safe with no vices. OH, and I almost forgot to mention - he has a mustache! Yes, that’s my favorite thing about him 😆 Five ⭐️ home is a must. I would love to see this guy in a place where he will be shown, he would be easy for an amateur in a program to continue along! He has so much natural talent, I would hate to see the opportunity go to waste. Watch his video 🍿🎥: [contact info removed] Hero is located in Littlestown, Pa.
