About this horse
$4,500 USD OBO Happy Appy 12.2H CHUNKY built POA/tri-color Paint pony gelding, 12 years old -too cute for words!! Seems larger- adults can ride easily. Happy is an adorable fuzzy tricolor paint pony, mostly brown with some white patches, 4 white stockings, and a darker tail and some tricolor markings, making him very colorful! Seems larger, adults can ride easily, sticks at 12.2H and will measure a small. Happy shows no signs of founder and has healthy barefoot feet. We had his teeth floated on 10/19 and he was overdue. He just had his feet trimmed and is barefoot. No blemishes, no maintenance. Easy to catch in pasture, VERY friendly, sweet personality. Impeccable ground manners with the kids. He is a real dear and a very unique-looking beautiful pony. Also a very pretty mover. If you put the time in and want to make him up into a show pony he could be worth a lot more than we are asking even leased out. Has a beautiful W/T/C and has been jumped in the past. Great feet, barefoot. His feet are hard as rocks. Age of 12 has been verified by both vet & dentist. Happy rides both english and western. Here is the scoop on Happy: he has been here a short time and my assessment on him is that he is suitable for western and western games, WTC or English walk-trot or canter if not beginner. For English he seems more suited for walk-trot kids and needs work on the canter under english tack but canters better under western tack and in western games. He was overdue for his teeth with a crooked tooth jutting into the bit area so that might be why he does western canter better (less rein contact) and might need some more work to improve the english canter. His teeth are now fixed and he is ready to go and he is priced with that in mind. Would be ideal for many different disciplines or could be a hunter pony with more work. Could also be an amazing foxhunting or trail pony. We have kids ages 6 & up riding him here and he also does leadline for the littles. He is not lazy and responds well to cues and trots slower for the kids than when I get on him (haha!). He would also be an amazing foxhunting pony!!! Definitely the kind of pony you want to stick in your pocket, he has a lovely demeanor and is very sweet and personable. Picks up all his feet, good for farrier, great for dentist - dentist was able to powerdrill in his mouth with no sedation! When pulling a fresh coggins we discovered he does not like IV needles (sorry bud who does??), other than not liking IV needles he has no ground quirks that we've noticed and he is good on the ground with our littles and curious but mindful of their chaos. Can't ask for a cuter pony!! If you want us to board til Xmas we CAN do that.
