About this horse

No Price Listed Skills: All Around, Athletic, Endurance, Flashy, Ranch, Ranch Versatility, Ranch Work, Ridden Western, Roping, Trail, Trail Riding, Western Riding, Working [contact info removed] LOCATION: Stephenville, TX Buckwheat Man, oh man! It’s our great pleasure to introduce you to WTWE Frenchmen Do, affectionately known around the barn as Buckwheat or even Sweet Buckwheat to some. ... ( read more ) They don’t come any cuter, flashy, or easy going than Mr Buckwheat! Standing 14 hands even, this guy is the perfect size for both children and adults. His beautiful golden coat and thick, long, white mane and tail make people do double takes EVERYWHERE HE GOES. He is so cute! It’s not just his color that’s catching eyes though. Buckwheat has a sweet little jog and short lope but will also extend when asked. This guy has a beautiful disposition, big hip, soft, kind eye, and a gorgeous head full of brains. That’s the key, right?! His pedigree speaks for itself! As an own son of Cat Man Do and a great grandson of Woody Be Tuff AND Frenchmans Guy, this guy was born to perform! Buckwheat has been such a dream to work with and have in our barn. He’s such an easy horse to be around that it’s easy to get spoiled with him. He stalls well, gets along next to anyone both in stalls and turn out lots, stands tied quiet as a church mouse both at home and out at new places. Vets, baths, saddling, trimming, hauling, none of it is a big deal for Buckwheat. He stands quietly for all of the above as well as loads and unloads easily. Now, let’s get to more of this guys actual resume! Last fall Buckwheat took on a new roll and learned the ins and outs of breakaway roping with Destinee Wofford. In this position his bloodlines really showed up and showed out! He showed us just how quick and athletic he was and impressed many. Staying calm and flat in the box, yet fast and to his spot when asked, Buckwheat showed that he absolutely could have a future in breakaway. Next in his career, Buckwheat learned the barrel pattern. His athleticism really showed here as well, as he picked up on barrels like it was just another day in the office. We love a well rounded horse so most recently Buckwheat has been working on perfecting his fancy handle. He is super easy to ride and has all the buttons one could ask for. Buckwheat stays soft in the bridle, breaks at the pole, picks up his rib cage, pivots on both ends, pretty much any tool you might need, it’s been installed. New environments are no big deal for Buckwheat making him a dream to haul. On the trail he will confidently lead the pack, follow behind, stick in the middle or even ride off by himself if asked. He’s not phased by the tarp, flag, barrels, or any of that odd ball stuff that might be spooky. Buckwheat has been used to pony colts but also doesn’t mind to be ponied himself and does great in both positions. Take the time to watch his video and you’ll get to see just how incredible this guy is. If that doesn’t do it for you, come on out and meet him! We would love to have you! We’re located in Stephenville, Texas. Please give Shelby a call at our phone number to discuss more about Buckwheat. Platinum Equine Auction Platinum Equine Auction
