About this horse

For Adoption Disciplines: Light Riding Gary is a wonderful 14 year old boy in need of a new forever home. He started life as a ranch horse but has been used rarely and lightly on trails for last five years. He would need a home that would again use him lightly for trails. He must not be asked to perform advanced work or sharp turns. He is not an easy keeper. He is best suited for a calm/confident rider and a consistent care routine. We had the vet come out and check limp/lameness late January. After full workup and x-rays, the results were beginnings of navicular issues. Vet is very confident with corrective shoeing and/or daily equoixx and stifle injections He will be usable for the rest of his years. Because of his new diagnosis, Gary is a walk/trot only trail riding companion for someone. Ground work and light riding, walk/trot under saddle, are ideal for him. We have already begun his corrective shoeing and joint and topline supplements. We also took him out of a stall and into pasture for consistent movement. Gary is super sweet with great groundmanners. He is respectful of personal space and loves his humans. He is free or lease to the right home due to his medical condition and due to the fact that he has not had his first stifle injection yet. He will need to maintain his veterinary needs, supplements, and exercise regime. He is definitely worth the time and effort for the person willing to maintain and work with him. Feel free to reach out with further questions or info on him.
