The All-Rounder

Comfortable in the middle of everything, which is rarer than it sounds. Enough forward to stay honest, enough patience to wait for you. Not a specialist - a generalist. The kind of horse that makes a good program great, or a rough patch survivable.

About this horse

$4,500 Skills: Gaited, Husband Safe Jasper is sweet, super friendly and has a goofy personality. He would climb into your pocket if it was big enough. He does not kick, rear, buck, or crib. He was bred for flat shod and performance (padded) but I can't find any show record for him. I think he was a failed show horse but he is a good riding horse as a second career. He is not spooky and is used to bikes, vehicles, hikers and dogs. I've ridden him under freeway overpasses and train trestles and he did wonderful. Jasper still thinks water is a deep hole but will follow other horses in. Once in the water he likes to play. He is still learning how to be a trail horse and is best on flat trails right now. He has a huge walk and a fast gait due to his long stride. I have only got him to canter a few strides since his gait is so fast. He is NOT a runaway but his fast gait may intimidate a timid rider. Jasper is a fun and safe horse to ride. He is easily bullied so would do best in a paddock by himself or with another nice horse. He is currently pastured on 3 acres with a mixed gender herd. Jasper ties, bathes, and trailers fine. He is is good with the farrier and currently barefoot with great feet and legs. He is UTD with vaccines, deworming, trims and teeth were floated Nov 2025. He does have a Hunter's Bump but it does not seem to bother him. Jasper recently had a chiro adjustment and the vet couldn't see any reason he can't be ridden regularly. He is priced accordingly.
