$25,000 Northwood’s Hope Again (Zach) is a coming 4 year old Connemara/TB gelding by Pattys Etoile de Paris out of the TB mare Hope Run. He’s a big bodied 15.2hh. He’s a short coupled, compact type with plenty of bone and a beefy build that can take up a decent amount of leg for his size. He had a solid start last year as a 3 year old, then had the winter off and is recently back to work. Zach is a classy, athletic guy with loads of potential to excel in a number of jobs. He has three excellent gaits with tons of adjustability and lift. He has a solid flatwork base with potential to be quite fancy. He’s good in the contact, easy off the leg, with excellent balance. He’s just recently getting started over fences and is going to be a fabulous jumper. He gives a great feel over the fence, is careful, quick, and catty. He’s been super brave with the jumping he’s done thus far and gives the feeling he’ll have plenty of scope. He did a bunch of trail riding last summer and was good hacking out. In the barn Zach is like a giant teddy bear. He’s a total love bug, always looking for attention, loves grooming, snuggles, and just being fussed over. He has good ground manners and is healthy and sound with no vices. Zach will be best suited for a confident rider looking for an athletic young horse to bring along. He’s good minded and quite straightforward to ride but does have the occasional cheeky pony thoughts that need to be kept in check. When he does spook or have a playful moment he can be quite quick so will do best with someone solid. He absolutely would suit a good riding AA or junior or could be a nice investment type for a pro.
