He is honest and genuine in his ride, taking care of an inexperienced or a young rider as they stroll down the trails. Keystone is a jack of all trades; he rides Western, English, bareback, bridleless, and even drives! You can expect him to be a seasoned trail or arena mount, even with time off, he picks things up right where you left off. He is a pleasure to be around on the ground, under saddle, or under harness. Keystone will go wherever he is pointed down the trails, where he easily crosses downed timber, walks quietly through the rivers, and handles rugged terrain with ease. He is accustomed to all wildlife as well, whether he comes across a flying pheasant in Iowa, or a speedy road runner in Arkansas; Keystone has seen it all! Whether you are out on the trails or in the arena, he stands patiently at a mounting block or will even stand next to a rock or log to be mounted. He is truly a horse that an entire family can enjoy, and is so versatile. He has a personality that everyone loves, as he enjoys all of the attention. He is personable with everyone and doesn't know a stranger. You will notice in his photos and video that he has a true double mane, falling thick and even on both sides of his neck! He is truly one of a kind. Keystone has put up with a lot from me as you will see in the video, always keeping a level head and the utmost patience. He stands quietly with side-by-sides doing donuts around him, and even entertains attention from a 7.5ft T-Rex on the ground and under saddle. He handles new things like a seasoned pro, and it's one of our favorite things about him. Keystone picks up his leads correctly on cue, lopes beautiful circles in a field or in the arena. He does everything that is asked of him without hesitation. Even with new riders on his back, he is always aiming to please. For a crossbred gelding, there isn't much that Keystone hasn't done, or hasn't been exposed to. He is extremely well rounded and versatile, making him a great fit for so many riders and families. All of our video was taken while on vacation in Arkansas, a brand-new place to him. Though it is not in the video, we want to emphasize how well he drives and how well he handles riding through the busy streets of our small town. Keystone is traffic safe, and handles a busy environment very well. He is not a stranger to trail obstacles; and enjoys all of the horseplay with the tarps, balls, and anything else the kids can think of. Keystone loads and hauls very well, he is a gentleman for the farrier and the veterinarian, bathes well, and stands quietly to be groomed and tacked up. He is used to being around farm equipment and all types of farm animals from small pets to poultry. He is easy to catch and happy whether he is stalled or turned out, and gets along well with others in a pasture setting. Radiographs or a pre-purchase exam can be arranged (at buyers expense).
