He is the definition of elegance with the power to perform. Donald is a 4 year old FBHR registered Friesian cross gelding who stands 16.2h, wears a size 3 shoe, and weighs in at approximately 1,400 lbs. He is an outstanding show prospect who has all of the potential in the world to excel in English events. Donald has been exposed to the sights on trails, obstacles in the arena, and even the hustle and bustle of small town life. He is thoroughly desensitized, and is ready to go on in his training. Donald has been started in dressage and already shows so much natural talent. He is such a beautiful mover that even people, who are inexperienced with horses, can see the raw ability that he has. Donald has been ridden extensively in both English and Western tack, and has an excellent foundation in his training in both disciplines. We believe that this makes him so much more well-rounded and versatile for his next riding partner. Donald is a very forward mover, with an impressive extended trot. We feel that he would be best suited for someone who is intermediate to advanced in their showing and riding ability, or someone who is paired with a trainer. Donald could easily be paired with a beginner adult rider, with the aid of a trainer. Donald is sired by Zebb M a purebred Friesian Stallion, and is out of a sporthorse mare who was 50% Friesian, thus making this stunning gelding 75% Friesian. Whether you have a preference for English or Western discipline, we believe that Donald will excel in Dressage or Western Dressage. If kept in training, he could also be very competitive in jumping, eventing, or equitation. Donald handles traffic well, and is not bothered in the least by all of the distractions you typically see when driving through a small town. He crosses water without hesitation, gracefully walks over logs in a trail pattern or over downed timber out on the trail. He has been ridden around large and small livestock as well as poultry, and has also been exposed to wildlife in fields and on trails. When doing arena work, Donald has been ridden in indoor and outdoor arenas, handling both with confidence. He has very impressive agility, and is capable of adapting to different types of footing with ease.
