About this horse

$7,300 USD NEGOTIABLE Disciplines: Western Riding Drifter– 5-Year-Old Grade, bay, Quarter Horse Gelding. (According to original owner, his sire bloodlines include sunny d bar, king and Two Eyed Jack, the dam is grade hence for no papers, notes available as he was sold at an auction in June 2023). 14.3 hands tall and still growing. Drifter is sweet, quiet, and a personable horse that enjoys attention and is easy to catch (he’ll be the first to run to meet you at the gate), great feet, solid build, athletic and and he learns quick. Drifter would make a FANTASTIC pack horse or on a hard working ranch with his solid build, athletic ability, chill personality and he’s young enough to provide many years of service. His previous owner has taken him camping, ponied him as well as ponied others on him, and been on lots of trail rides. HOWEVER… he MUST have an experienced rider who is able to recognize the potential to off load a possible buck (his only flaw but it’s a big one). On the trails he has been super chill under saddle and nothing seems to bother him. He crosses bridges just fine, loves the water, stands perfectly for the farrier and loads well. We’ve been working on moving off leg pressure, neck reining. obstacles/sensory, ground tying and is really good at understanding “whoa” command. He has a superficial scar on his back right hind that does not affect him in any way. Reason for selling… I purchased him October 2025 as a prospect to be my mounted posse partner with the sheriffs department but we had an incident during obstacle training where he bolted and bucked. He will not qualify as a posse horse at this time and I need to pursue other options. He has been to 3 professional trainers at different periods of time so his experience and exposure to a variety of talented people has helped him adapt and learn new things.
