Temperament & Management
The Old Soul
Measured, forgiving, and built for teaching. This horse has processed enough chaos to stop being bothered by most of it. Won't set the ring on fire, but won't let you fall on your face either. Gives back exactly what you put in - with a little grace on top.
About this horse
Disciplines: Driving, English, English Pleasure Classico has one of the biggest hearts of any horse I have met. He is a walking teddy bear. He is so gentle and considerate on the ground. He will stand quietly as toddlers "boop" his nose while he is being groomed and saddled to ride. He will stand patiently while you braid his mane. This horse sings, 'It is well with my soul" wherever he goes. He just carries himself with peace and patience. He just restarted under saddle in February and has been nothing short of a chivalrous gentleman. He has no bad habits under saddle and is honest to your aids. He is schooling training level dressage and working on his lateral movements. Everything comes to him with simplicity and ease. He has a lot of animation and movement under saddle but he rides so smoothly. His trot is light on the rider's back and he is so soft in your hands. His canter feels like you are gliding on air. He is also brave. He has been exposed to cattle, water, pole work, cats, kids running up and down the barn isle - he just has a tranquil presence about him through it all. Here is a video of him just a few weeks after being under saddle with me - [contact info removed]. We went to a schooling dressage show in April and he was one of the crowd favorites. He is just stunning to watch in the arena. He scored consistently a 7 for his movement and averaged in the 60's every single class. We ended up bringing home the Open Championship ribbon. Yet, with such a humble exterior, it is hard to believe that he is already a US IALHA National Champion Senior Stallion at Halter. He was the USEF National Champion Junior English Pleasure Horse of the Year and IALHA National Champion Jr Horse in English Pleasure. He has such maturity from all of his many years of training and show miles. He has travelled the country receiving accolades everywhere he goes. For years, he trained under the well-received and well-respected, Howard and Erica Peet in Chicago. He began training as a yearling - see his video here: [contact info removed]. He has been with them up until last year. Here is a video of him under saddle: [contact info removed]. We moved him home to south Houston about a year ago to be gelded and to be sold as we are cutting back in our breeding program. This horse could be the perfect adult amateur dressage horse!!! He really has it all!
