Temperament & Management
The All-Rounder
Comfortable in the middle of everything, which is rarer than it sounds. Enough forward to stay honest, enough patience to wait for you. Not a specialist - a generalist. The kind of horse that makes a good program great, or a rough patch survivable.

Do you want a horse that has serious presence and can handle any task? Dukes the man. The absolute most athletic, versatile give it 💯% horse you could want. Duke has been with me since he was just under 2. He has traveled thousands of miles helping me teach clinics and work. He stands tied, excellent for farrier, trailer loads effortlessly, has no bad vices, flying lead changes, leg yield, half pass, trail rides, opens gates etc. etc. He is a stellar traveler and has been there done that. Competes in Big Loop Ranch Roping and Western Dressage. He would excel in Traditional Dressage Duke excels in Western Dressage and would transitions flawlessly into traditional dressage, Ranch Riding and Ranch Versatility. We don’t show often but Duke has been in the top ten horses in 4th Level for the Western Dressage Online International Competition for several years. In 2023 Duke showed at the Western Dressage Worlds Competition and scored respectably in WD Hack Open division and Open 4th level test 1. Duke can and is ridden in the Hackamore, snaffle and works in a spade very nicely. He is steady and knows his job for pasture/ranch roping, working gates riding in extreme terrain, working cattle pens, gathering, cutting and sorting. Duke can be sensitive. I don’t train dead heads, so an experienced rider or beginner with a coach may be a good fit. I do and would take Duke for any job, he’s my right hand partner, from trails, to roping to dressage and he would also make a great jumper. I will be particular about who he goes to. I have several more videos upon request. [contact info removed]
