Temperament & Management
The Old Soul
Measured, forgiving, and built for teaching. This horse has processed enough chaos to stop being bothered by most of it. Won't set the ring on fire, but won't let you fall on your face either. Gives back exactly what you put in - with a little grace on top.
About this horse
$6,500 USD NEGOTIABLE Disciplines: Beginner-Safe, Lesson, Trail Riding, Youth Charlie Pony does everything that a solid equine citizen should do. She leads, tyes, bathes, stand for vet and farrier, knows the thinking tree is good for flyspray etc . She is used for lessons, hacking around the property and trail rides. She travels well in a group and ponies amazingly well off another horse for those who aren't quite ready to steer on their own. In the front in the back somewhere in the middle, she doesn't care she's comfortable wherever. She stands to be tacked, bridled (full cheek simple snaffle) loads and unloads (both ramp and step up), stands quietly to be mounted go through in and around anything you point her at. She eats very little, couple of handfuls of Purina Impact 1010 mature active a day and pasture or rolled grass hay. Gets along with others in the field, simple no maintenance. She's up to date with all and current Coggins She's a super fun ride she rides with or without a saddle comfortably. Would be good for youngsters or petite adults. Walk Trot (sitting and rising) and canter with loose rein and light contact. Good upward and downward transitions. Upward transition from trot to canter needs a bit of urging. This Pony is not going to run off with your child, but they must understand you can't pull back on the reins and kick to go forward. Doesn't neck rein the best, but does listen to leg aids so I use that while riding to communicate where I want her to go. With a rider who knows what they are doing she is a fun sporty ride, with a Little that she needs to back pack, you know she isn't going to dump them and be a blazen chestnut mare. She has done more riding with littles than she has with small adults that want to go fast, Charlie pony is going to be a safe slower type rider, won't be your next barrel pony. (Maybe if you want to long trot the pattern) Here are links to videos of Charlie pony doing the things: [contact info removed] [contact info removed] [contact info removed] [contact info removed] [contact info removed] [contact info removed] [contact info removed] [contact info removed] [contact info removed] [contact info removed] [contact info removed] [contact info removed] [contact info removed]
