Athletic, forward, and mentally steady enough to stay useful under pressure. Has the engine to move up and the brain to stay there - doesn't need babysitting in warm-up or convincing at the gate. Suited to riders who want to climb levels, not just maintain them.

About this horse

Disciplines: Playday, Ranch Versatility, Trail Riding, Western, Working Cattle, Youth Waco is the perfect horse for a rider with some experience and confidence and loves to trail ride alone! Waco THRIVES outside the arena. Has been rode a lot of miles. He will go anywhere and loves to explore. Crosses bridges, logs, hills, ditches, water. Waco would rather lead if rode with other horses as he is very brave. I have mostly trail rode him alone but he is good riding with a couple other horses. If rode in a big, big group and is made to follow he will prance (jog) some to try and keep up. I have taken him to obstacle courses, and he's done all the crazy obstacles with ease. He's been rode through cows, with mules, around donkeys and minis and will pony horses. Waco has drug logs and brush, carried flags, feed bags, tarps, and even a hunting blind while being rode. He has had a rope thrown off him (not roped live cattle before), and even been fished off of. He's great with dogs running around his legs and in his face or riding with them on the trails. Been rode around bikes and down the road with trucks and motorcycles zooming past him and he's not phased. Time off and comes back the same horse, but like any great horse he's always going to be better for someone with a little consistency. Will ride out in an open field, that is where I mostly ride him. Waco also has a lead change, side pass, and turns on haunches and forehand. Gives to the bit, flexes, you can push him around anywhere with your legs. He will ride in a halter or loping hackamore. Waco has been ridden bareback and double. He has been around gunfire and it has not bothered him. The last 4 years Waco has been successfully shown in the ranch classes at the local shows. He has brought home high point or reserve for the day every time out. With all that being said, Waco will show and is great at it but I want to strongly reiterate...he's not the happiest riding in the arena and getting trained on. Waco is not for a total beginner rider, he does need some experience to get his full potential. Waco would be best for a rider that will be firm with commands but doesn't pick. He is as safe as they come, but he will test someone a little bit here and there. No buck, rear, or run off. He would also be best for one rider as he wants to really bond with someone. He is turned out during the day with other geldings. Great in a stall. He LOVES attention and is an absolute puppy dog on the ground. Clips, ties, loads/unloads. UTD on everything. He does require some maintenance (injections) and shoes all around. He has old scarring on right shoulder that has never bothered him, just cosmetic. A perfect home is a must for this very special horse. PPE at buyers expense is welcomed. Serious Inquires only please. [contact info removed] Watch his video!
