About this horse

$10,000 USD FIRM Disciplines: Working Cattle AQHA-registered Red Roan gelding. Coming on 6 years in May. "Chester" will be in your pocket once he gets to know you, especially when it's treat time. He is an easy catch at the food trough. Will put his head down in the halter and easily take the bit without any head swinging. Chester will self-load and quietly back out when queued. Stands quietly in the trailer with no pawing. He travels long distances well. He will respectively stand tied, for hours, at the trailer or in the barn. I use a mounting block, or whatever I can climb onto to saddle up. Again, he will stand patiently. He loves to be bathed and groomed. He was originally used to work cattle and rope, but I use him exclusively for trail riding. We have been all over the Ozarks and across the Current and Jack's Fork River without hesitation. There is no spook, nothing bothers him, not even fireworks. He is as content in a stall as he is in the pasture. no cribbing. He prefers to be out even in bad weather. In the field, his best friend is my dog, who jumps all over and under him. Chester has been exposed to a busy cross-country trail-ride camp and Wranglers. He has also been ridden with traffic. Side passes, backs up, goes to where he is pointed, and carefully crosses ditches and logs. He is very comfortable in the arena. I have videos for inquiries. Chester rides great in groups with no kicking. He will lead or stay in the back. So why am I selling this perfect horse? I am probably the most honest person around and will hide nothing. Chester would be the perfect horse for an intermediate rider who consistently rides with family. He was born on a 10,000-acre ranch on the Sioux Indian reservation and ran with his herd for the first 16 months of his life. He craves company, and when he finds a friend, he doesn't want to leave them. He will randomly buck when I separate from a group and head back to camp. Sometimes there is no warning. I can easily disengage him, circle him, back up, and we are on our way. I ride alone, and at 70 years old, I can't take a chance. Chester is UTD on Coggins and vaccinations. He was shod on 3/24/26 and stands quietly. Hooves are sound. Teeth are good and have never been floated. He has his annual Kentucky Health Certificate. I will be very selective with who he goes to. He is the easiest horse that I have ever owned. Located in Cerulean, KY. Transport not available. [contact info removed]
