About this horse

$30,000 USD NEGOTIABLE Disciplines: 4H, Beginner-Safe, Competitive Trail Riding, English, Lesson, Trail Riding We get calls from people all the time, looking for a horse like Dr Pepper! Buttermilk Strong, aka Dr Pepper, is a 2020 AQHA Bay Roan gelding that stands 14.3hh. He is a 5-year-old that acts and rides like a 10-year-old horse. He is not tall, but not short and very rider friendly. If you’re looking for a colorful gelding with great ground manners, steady on the trail and a sweet and willing attitude, Dr Pepper will fit your needs. Dr Pepper’s ground manners are outstanding. He is very respectful and quiet. He doesn’t crowd you and get in your space, backs up with a wiggle of the lead rope, ties wherever you put him and is very patient. He stands quietly for the farrier and vet, loves to be bathed and groomed and willingly loads in a stock or slant trailer. Under saddle, Dr Pepper is a joy to ride. He has smooth transitions, a nice jog and an easy slow lope. He moves off leg aids and is very light in the bridle with a 1 hand neck rein. Dr Pepper is a trail rider’s dream! He has been ridden in all kinds of terrain from the mountains of Colorado to the brushy, rocky bluffs of Iowa. Whether you’re headed through the timber or over an open meadow, Dr Pepper handles it all like a seasoned pro. He opens gates, rides over obstacles, and crosses the teeter totter, and he isn’t fazed by flags, tarps, big balls or steps. Traffic, machinery, water, livestock or wildlife, he has seen them all. If you’re in need of a solid trail partner for your next adventure, whether you’re seasoned or not, Dr Pepper will take care of you.
