Temperament & Management
The All-Rounder
Comfortable in the middle of everything, which is rarer than it sounds. Enough forward to stay honest, enough patience to wait for you. Not a specialist - a generalist. The kind of horse that makes a good program great, or a rough patch survivable.
About this horse
$22,500 USD FIRM Disciplines: 4H, Color Tested, Cowboy Dressage, English, HYPP N-N, Ranch Work, Trail Riding, Western, Working Cattle Proudly offered for sale. Chip is a 7 year-old registered leopard Appaloosa gelding. Chip is the total package—stunning looks, balanced gaits, willing and kind. He is the first horse at the gate every morning and in-your-pocket sweet. Chip has had 90-days of professional training beginning at age 5, including cow horse, backcountry trail riding and natural horsemanship. He has outstanding groundwork and has been ridden for the past 2 years by experienced riders both in the western and english worlds. Chip is a pleasure to ride. He has smooth transitions from any gait, is naturally balanced and started on flying lead changes. He has been ridden and ponied on local trails and has had limited exposure to more technical mountain trails. He is willing to cross water, step over logs, rides bareback and has even jumped. Chip has also worked lightly with cows and on a flag. He could truly go in any direction. Due to his age and ongoing training, Chip is not a beginner horse. He would be best suited for an intermediate or advanced rider who wants to continue bringing along a talented young horse. In a full training program, he could be suited for a less experienced rider. He clips, trailers, ties, stands for farrier and is a super easy keeper in the barn. He enjoys daily turnout if possible and can fit in with a herd with proper introduction. A fantastic home is an absolute must; we love Chip and finding the right home is very important to us. We are only selling him due to personal reasons and appreciate serious inquiries only. PPEs welcome. We can provide a full vetting report from September 2024 upon request. No soundness or other issues to-date. Coat color pattern test results are LP/N and N/PATN1. He is N/N for HYPP, GBED, PSSM-1 and MH through parentage. Additional pictures and video available. For more information, please call or text [contact info removed].
