The Forward Ride

Good motor, even head. This horse wants to go, and mostly goes about it in an uncomplicated way. Athletic without the edge, forward without the drama. The kind of horse that makes ambitious goals feel possible without making every ride an event.

This mare has great confirmation, beautiful color and lots of size! She is a lovely Bay Roan with specks and spatters all through her coat and there isn't a show she couldn't stop by mid-summer if you tried. She is currently 15.3hh to 16hh and appears to have stopped growing and started fattening up and widening out nicely. She has that big, beautiful Quarter horse rear that EVERYONE loves and a nice, strong, thickset shoulder that is a massive powerhouse. ... (read more ) She has been around cows since she was a baby so she doesn't mind them much and I can tell that she is going to be super, super cowy once she's done with her training. I have now ridden her bareback 3 times and saddled once and though she is spooky about a number of new things, she is pretty easily controlled by the reins. As I said, she is still young and has so much more to learn, but she has the essential basics and is now ready for a defined direction to work towards. She takes a Wonder bit and a driving snaffel very well and (can) turn on a dime if you want her to. She has had some drive reining practice around the property as well which will deffinitely sharpen her response to commands when you teach them to her. I would put her on the level of needing a good solid rider who knows what they are doing and is very confident, but with training, I would easily see her being an Everyone horse, so it's up to you! She is eager to learn and takes her lessons well so there isn't anything you couldn't teach her. (She did bruise her lower back leg during one of our workouts and is being soft on it but that will go away soon enough. It's just like any other nasty bruise, sore. She is not currently shod.) She is located in Marshfield Missouri Please don't hesitate to call me with any questions you have concerning her, I am happy to talk. You can reach me through my phone or gmail, both are listed.
