The Competitor

Athletic, forward, and mentally steady enough to stay useful under pressure. Has the engine to move up and the brain to stay there - doesn't need babysitting in warm-up or convincing at the gate. Suited to riders who want to climb levels, not just maintain them.

About this horse

Disciplines: 4H, 6-Panel DNA Test N-N, All-Around Show, Barrels-Poles-Gymkhana, Broodmare, Champion Pedigree, Country English Pleasure, Cowhorse, Cross-Country, Cutting ARC CUSTOM MADE aka ‘Lilly’ This 2007 flashy mare comes from the famous Arcese quarter horses in Texas- home of world famous reiners- Walla Walla Wiz and GunnaTrashya Not only is she bred right- (chic please/custom chrome) she stands correct, is fancy broke and produces flashy babies (carries W20 gene) This mare has had 3 owners- was a futurity Reiner in her beginning years, with all the buttons- stops, spins and changes Her second owner used her for reining, lessons and penning for 12 years, and current owner has been brought to the winning circle multiple times in sorting and cattle penning-including Calgary stampede penning finals her first time there. While this cow eating machine mare can go all day in the arena chasing a flag or buffalo – she’s also had life experience out in the bush- weekend horseback camping, long pack trips hunting elk, and daily rides on the trail- Lilly has ‘been there done that’ with a little pep in her step, shes point and shoot over logs, bogs, Barriers, lakes and rivers. This horse will go go go- and never quit on you- yet is a puppy dog that your 3 yr old or grandma can take lessons on in the arena- she's soft and responsive, takes care of her riders, but isn't a plot along. Gymkhana? Sit deep while she digs and shows you those cow pony turns Dressage? Heck ya, she can stride out fancier then any Welsh Hunter? This gal can tuck, scope and steady canter better then your TB (and she can ride pony classes) Cross country? Oh mama, hold on and lett’ er rip she ain’t holding back Ranch riding? Top scores and class- patterns are her thing. Cowhorse and flag work? Run downs, roll backs and cuts- circles and mediocre reining turns (gets lazy when she's not schooled regularly on them but can do it) While she thrives as a riding horse, her bloodlines and babies have made her a proven brood mare- she’s had two beautiful colts that share her flashy face, socks, and puppy dog personality- both have sold to performance homes for $$ And she could easily have 4-5 more babies. Easy breedings, easy foaling, always has ‘the favorite” baby of the band, nurses all the others.she is lead mare, but not a straight up B**ch She is an asset to any reining or cow horse breeding program – pull eggs and let your kid ride her. This mare has it all. Down sides- she's got softer feet and needs to be kept shod while being rode, but otherwise sound and healthy- and can be little herd bound if kept with other mares when riding out on trails for the first 15 mins but settles and shows no signs in an arena. She has had very minimal maintenance (blemish free, Chiro, regular teeth and farrier) and has stayed sound year after year. Was meant to be a kids ‘step up’ horse but my kids are too young and she's too great to sit in the field and wait for them. Easy to catch, easy to ride and easy on the eyes. Would be an awesome 4h or step up horse. Located in salmon arm/Vernon bc Stands 14'2. 20k Can 15 usd
