He ties well, hauls well, and stands to saddle exactly as one should. He was previously ridden by an 80 year old gentleman who absolutely adored him. When his wife sold her horse and purchased one that was not gaited, he needed to switch horses, not because of Merle, but because Merle truly suits an experienced rider. Merle has been camping all over Western Kentucky, Tennessee, and Illinois. He stalls well, high ties, and handles new places with confidence. With his size, power, and forward way of going, Merle is best suited for an experienced rider who wants to step up and be noticed.
