About this horse

Apache is an attractive, big and thick made 7 year old, 15.2 hand grade Appy gelding that’s as gentle as can be. This is an extremely kind and good natured horse that’s very user friendly to ride and work with. IN the arena he is smooth traveling, has a nice slow jog, takes his leads and has an excellent one hand neck rein. Stops like a dead end street when you ask, backs up with light hand cues and will side pass with ease to open and close the gates. He is a very easy going and uncomplicated horse to ride. Apache has primarily been used as a trail horse for most of his life and has also been ridden in numerous parades at the Dallas Fort Worth stockyards. He is outstanding to ride out anywhere, from busy neighborhood streets to our rugged mountain trails. When riding in an urban environment Apache is safe and solid. He is fine about fast passing vehicles as well as the local mini farm and the neighborhood dogs that frequently run up at us. He is equally good to ride out on our mountain trails. Will lead or follow, ride peacefully in any position of a group as well as out on his own. Crosses the river, small creeks, deadfall and trail bridge. He’s sure footed and dependable in steep rugged terrain and picks his way through our rocky River bottom like a champ. He’s great with sensory objects. Crosses the tarp, carries the flag, and handles the bag filled with empty rattling cans. Apache has also recently been rode by our daughter in law who is a beginner rider all over the mountain trails. This is an extremely good mount for beginners on up and is a trail riders dream. He has no bad habits or vices of any kind. Gets along great with other horses, stands tied quietly for grooming, tacking and mounting. If you prefer a mounting block or climb up on anything he is happy to pick you up on whatever you ask him to. Good to bathe, shoe, load and haul. Apache is 100% sound, safe and sane and there are few and far between like him. Watch his video! [contact info removed]
