About this horse

$12,000 USD NEGOTIABLE Disciplines: 6-Panel DNA Test N-N, Champion Pedigree, Double Registered, High-Percentage Color Producer, High-Percentage Dun Factor Producer, Point Earner, Register of Merit, Show Winner, Stallion-Stud-Breeding, Triple Registered After some consideration, we will be offering our 2013 Appaloosa Stallion, R Secrets R Gold Dun aka 'Reed', to the perfect home. Sadly, we have come to the decision that Reed has needs that are not being met in a barn full of other stallions. We feel very much so that he would be a great deal happier in a situation where he is the ONLY stallion, or where he would have the space to not fret about any other stallions. Our other homebred boys are content sharing their space with each other, but as more of our junior stallions age up, Reed's worrying has grown. We feel a role as an only stallion with a small court of mares would be his ideal situation for his mental health going forward. Here are the details: 'Reed' is a 2013 red dun ApHC/CRHA stallion. He is 7panel N/N and EJSCA N/N. He is color tested ee Aa Dnd2 LPlp and negative for all other white genes tested for so far. To date, he has only sired two true solids, and only four non-duns. He has produced a majority fillies. His foals are extremely smart, personable, and trainable, as is Reed himself. He is a 'people' horse, and loves attention and is pretty well behaved in hand, is dummy trained and will also live cover in hand. He has his ApHC Bronze Medallion in FPD Halter Stallions, has 3 ROMs, and 57.5 lifetime ApHC points. Reed has 60 days undersaddle, but could probably use a refresher as his riding career took a bit of a backburner with us. Because of this we are NOT factoring his training into his price, only his show career and his overall quality as a sire. ALL of his limited foals are registered ApHC except one that is ASHDA. He has NO grade or weird crossbreed foals lurking out there. He is FPD designation, meaning most of his foals out of ApHC mares will likely be as well. All of his future ApHC foals should also qualify CRHA as he is registered himself alongside several of his offspring. He is a true red dun, and thus would qualify to register ABRA Buckskin Bred under their new rules, and any of his dun foals, whether they are LP or not, should also qualify in one of their books. Reed's foals are TYPEY, with gorgeous heads and necks, strong hips, and amazing gaits. He brings a heavy ApHC FPD pedigree with him, contributing 14 of the required 24 ancestors for an FPD foal. He boasts bloodlines to many breed greats such as First Secretary, Mr Spotted Bull, Prince Plaudit, Navajo Britches, Joker B, and more- the blood that put the breed on the MAP! We have retained two sons and two daughters for our program, and they will continue to be trained and shown, which will only add to his proof as a sire! This is a stupendous stallion, and we are not offering him lightly, nor will we sell him to a place that will just use him up. Our priority is his happiness and health. If you have the perfect spot for him, please inquire, and we'll be happy to talk with you about his future in your program. Non-USA homes are fine as well!
