He has been on countless trail rides, including moonlight rides, and always takes everything in stride and with charm. He is sure-footed and confident going up and down hills, over logs, and through creeks and water crossings. He loves trail rides, whether he is going out alone or with other horses and enjoys every minute of it. In the arena, Waylon knows his leads, has smooth, easy gaits, and side passes right up to the mounting block to make it easy for you to get on. He has been ridden western, English, and bareback, and he also drives, making him a truly versatile family horse. From the grandkids to the advanced rider, he is the kind of horse everyone can enjoy and feel safe on. Waylon is a gentleman to be around in the barn. He stands quietly for the farrier, in the wash bay, and for grooming — and he absolutely loves attention. The more love and care you give him, the more he gives back. He enjoys being part of the daily routine and is just as happy to greet you at the gate as he is going for a ride. He is well desensitized to tarps, jugs, gunshots, and whips. You can ride him once a day or once a week, and he stays the same solid and dependable partner. He has been turned out with other horses and gets along great with everyone. Waylon is traffic safe and has been on state roads, through town, and in parades, both ridden and hitched to a carriage.
