He is a true beginner friendly gelding that has been there and done it all, making him an ideal match for a wide range of riders, especially someone looking for safety, reliability, and consistency. ... ( read more ) He is an easy horse to ride and enjoy, whether you are riding occasionally or on a regular schedule. In the arena, Hops is extremely well broke and uncomplicated. He neck reins easily and will jog quietly on a loose rein or travel correctly with a headset when asked. His lope departures are simple and smooth off your outside leg, and he consistently picks up the correct lead. He maintains a steady rhythm, is easy to steer, and has a solid stop. He is not overly forward, which makes him comfortable for beginner and intermediate riders, but he is responsive when asked. On the trail, Hops is as dependable as they come. He is sure footed on different terrain and handles new environments with confidence. He will cross water, push through brush, step over logs, and ride out quietly alone or in a group. He is the type you can point down the trail and trust to take care of his rider, making him a great option for pleasure riding, camping trips, or someone wanting a safe horse outside the arena. Hops is also very easy to handle on the ground. He stands quietly to be saddled, bathed, and groomed, and is simple to manage for daily care.
