Rand is one of these horses that puts a smile on your face every time you ride him. Bred and born at Texas A and M university equine program. He always saddles up gentle regardless of how much time off he has had. He is very quiet minded but is handy and responds to light leg and hand cues. He’s smooth traveling and fun to ride and is well trained both in and out of the Arena. In the ring Rand has a nice one hand neck rein, an easy to sit jog and will lope out of his tracks on cue. He has a super smooth short lope, a great stop and backs up with one finger on your rein. Has a good turnaround, roll backs and will side pass over with ease to work the gate. Rand has lots of experience working on the ranch, from pasture roping to Sorting cattle, he is all business when needing to get a job done but also loves to peacefully cruise out on the mountain trails. When riding in the urban environment Rand is rock solid. He is confident and safe with all that we encounter, from fast passing vehicles of every kind to the charging barking dogs to the farm animals and everything else we ride past. He is solid solid solid solid! Rand is equally a total rockstar to ride out on our mountain trails. He will ride in any position of a group, is a good leader but is just as content to ride in the middle or back of a group. He will also ride out peacefully on his own. Crosses the river, creeks, trail bridges, deadfall, and all the other trail obstacles. He is surefooted in steep, rugged terrain and just an absolute pleasure to ride out anywhere. Rand would work well for cattle Sorting, roping, drill team or just ride him on down the trail. Rand is good about everything and has no vices or bd habits. He is a friendly get along kind of a horse and just wants to please. He’s never any trouble about anything and is always willing and ready for anything we ask of him. 100% safe and sound.
