About this horse

$6,500 USD Maggie is a coming 5-year-old Manchador/Andalusian (dam) and Quarter Horse (sire) cross. She’s a fun mix of gentle and pretty energetic. She’s a little horse, but it doesn’t feel that way when you’re on her—she’s fast and strong. She has a nice, quick walk that easily keeps up with bigger horses. Her trot is smooth, and her canter is easy and comfortable. Most of her riding has been done on trails, and about 90 percent of the time she’s been out by herself. She always moves out like she’s on a job and wants to get somewhere. Maggie has done some really tough trails in the superstition wilderness (Peralta area). She is very confident and will jump up or down any obstacle you point her at. I started riding her last summer, and what I really like about her is that she’s never felt like she wanted to buck—and she never has. She was spooky about the cows in Arizona at first but now she has moved past that. She is completely sound, with no injuries, bad habits, or known flaws. She has very good, hard feet and could easily go barefoot in the right situation. Maggie is still young and somewhat green, but she has a great attitude and all the makings of a wonderful little horse. She has had a great start with everything (trailering, shoeing, trail riding, arena work, traffic, dogs, living in a herd) and she could go many different directions. I'm currently camping in Wickenburg with my horses and I'll likely go to the Florence or Tucson area for March and then head home to Colorado in April. Thanks!
