About this horse

SOLD Skills: Gaited MDR Mazakeen PSHR Missouri Fox Trotter DOB August 18, 2016 14.2 HH Gold Champagne Mare Price: $5,000 CAD plus GST Sire: Wueste Hitze (Champagne Justice x Sandia's Lightning Strike R) Dam: Sparkee's Chocolat n Champagne (Dundee's Champagne Sparkler x Peanut T) Maze has been with us since she was 2-years-old. She has given us two beautiful foals; a gold champagne molly mule and a chestnut sabino fox trotter colt. ... (read more) We have used Maze to pack and ride in the mountains. She really is a been-there-done-that type of horse. Maze is for experienced horse people only. She has a personality that is certainly not for everyone. She can be a bit spicy on her first ride after time off. If you can get through that, she is good to go. I have sold Maze twice in the past. I sold her as a green broke three-year-old to a person who planned on putting miles on her and moving her on when she was more broke. This person tried her out once and then asked if I would take her back. The second time I sold her, she stayed with this person for over a year. Eventually she asked if I would buy her back because she was 'chasing' a family member out of the pasture. I personally have never experienced this with Maze. I think this person was riding Maze alone and running into a lot of problems because when we started riding her after she came home, she was trying to rear to get out of work. This was quickly nipped in the bud and after that we packed her into the Willmore, competed in competitive trail, and generally just rode her everywhere. She has been ridden extensively by my husband's daughter when she was a teenager. Because of her history, I will be very picky about who she goes too. Maze deserves someone truly great, and someone who won't quit on her. She is a tough, gritty mare with lots of potential and miles in her. She is easy to catch and good for the farrier, loads great. She has been tied, hobbled, high lined extensively. Maze has never had a lot of patience. We are downsizing our herd and looking to find Maze her very own person.
