SOLD Skills: All Around, Athletic, Gaited, Ridden Western, Trail, Trail Riding, Western Pleasure, Western Riding ****** SOLD ********** LOCATION: Moscow, OH Patches a gorgeous 11 year old grade Missouri Fox Trotter mare that stout built and very gentle. I want to start off by bragging on this mare, we took her pictures and videos Friday (1-17). We’ve had horrible weather here with snow and ice mix and hadn’t gotten to ride her for roughly 3 weeks due to it being unsafe footing, Patches had been standing in a stall on full hay & and under blanket the whole time, we finally got decent temps Friday so I took her shoes off (she’s due to be reset but the farrier couldn’t make it) and we started videoing. ... ( read more ) The reason this is so special is because most horses would be full of energy, wanting to play, and understandably blow off some of that cooped up energy, but not Patches! When we pulled her out of her stall she knew it was time to work and was fantastic! She never once tried to play under saddle or go faster than we wanted, she was her same, peaceful self, just as she has always been. Patches is super smooth and has a natural gait no matter if she is shod or barefoot. She walks when asked and doesn’t get hot or pushy to go faster. She is very respectful of her rider and doesn’t hesitate do respond to cues. Patches is traffic safe and doesn’t shy from barking dogs, neighboring cattle or machinery. She crosses creeks and down timber with ease and is very sure footed. I am really in love with this mare. She is one that is hard to let go of. She has all the looks and temperament you could ever ask for. She is a very easy keeper and gets along well with other equine.
