About this horse

At Auction – Sale Date: Feb 28, 2026 Disciplines: 4H, Beginner-Safe, Husband-Safe, Kid-Friendly, Money Winner, Mountain Trail, Ranch Riding-Ranch Pleasure, Reining-Cowhorse-Cutting, Trail Riding, Western Dressage Undeniably, jaws drop as “BUTTERCUP” rides by; she is “The one and only!!” Not only drawn to her beauty, but also her bloodlines, talent, and laid-back kind demeanor! With her forgiving attitude and willingness, she is family-friendly! She is the horse that visitors ask to ride when they come to the ranch- simply unforgettable. Her personality and skill set her apart. With an all-around resume, Buttercup has been there and done it- seasoned in the ranch riding to showing in reining to trail riding and everything in between. She is our go-to horse in all disciplines. She rides to the rider’s ability on her back and does not try to do more than they ask. She is trained to curbside to make mounting easy! More than the average lady, Buttercup is an NRHA money earner and is amateur-approved! Easy to operate, she is solid in all reining maneuvers, with smooth spins, nice lead change, a pretty circle, and a great stop. In the ranch classes, she is consistent and catches the judge’s eye. She has a captivating carriage and is a gorgeous mover with a pretty jog and extended trot. One of her greatest assets is her smoothness at all gaits, effortlessly carrying her rider. She rates off your seat, will nail her transitions smoothly, and guides on autopilot. To add, she is one of the most graceful under English tack as well! Buttercup crosses over from the arena to the trails and loves to lend a helping hand on the ranch, sorting cattle. She truly enjoys the simple things in life, like spending time with her person on the trails —from the mountains of Montana to the deserts of Arizona. Something we really admire about her is how calm, sure-footed, and trustworthy she is out on the trails. No matter the terrain in front of her, rushing river, boggy creeks, wild game, bicycles, or down timber, she stays right on course! She’s even up for afternoon bareback rides across the pasture; frankly, she just enjoys what her rider puts in front of her. Beautiful inside and out, so sweet.
