About this horse
$5,000 Skills: English Pleasure, Project, Trail Riding, Western Pleasure, Working Cattle "Scudder" is a cutting-bred quarter-horse with English and Western training under saddle. We do not have his papers, but he is a purebred quarter horse. He is as cute as a button and is a great project for an experienced rider to bring a long in any direction. The good: -Easy keeper, no health or lameness issues, can live in or out. Gets along with everyone. No vices -Has a clean ppe and hoof x-rays from when we got him in Fall of 2024 -Good for the vet/farrier and has good feet, currently wears front shoes -Good for everything on the ground, loves being groomed, cross-ties etc -Loads/trailers well -Well broke English and Western with both leads, steers super well off the seat, leg and reins, understands lateral pressure -Been on the trails a couple times and started over poles and little jumps -Super quiet-minded and is a kick ride -Chases coyotes in the fields and seems very cowy -UTD on vaccines, dental, deworming etc The bad: -Occasionally offers a decent-sized buck when not in consistent work -Because of our lack of time to give him the consistency he needs, he has not been ridden in over 6 months, so will not be able to be tried under saddle, but we do have videos Price is negotiable to a good home! Issy combines this traditional equestrian background with a Master’s Degree in animal behavior, which lends her a science-based/academic body of knowledge to compliment her hands-on experience. The horsemanship she shares with her students incorporates the most up-to-date findings by scientists and veterinarians on 1. Equine welfare and behavior, 2. Animal learning, and 3. The bio-mechanics of equine & rider movement. From Issy: “I am constantly learning, and every horse and rider I work with teaches me something and gives something back to me. I truly love what I do and would love to share this passion with you and include you in my journey!”
